The Big, Bright Light Show and Christmas Parade

The Neighborhood House a non-profit organization is again sponsoring Boy Scout Troop 188 of Rochester Michigan, to build a float for the upcoming 56th annual Rochester Hometown Parade, December 2, 2007.

To date they have constructed the moon out of chicken wire , have it covered with three or four layers of paper mache, and have applied one coat of white paint to the surface. And yes, everyone has been covered head to toe with the mucky goop!

The Shuttle has been carved out of foam and has been temporarily connected to its support. But the support is not strong enough at the present time to hold the Shuttle horizontally. Plans are in the works to add more support and getting the shuttle hoisted up and sitting in the correct position.

There has been a change of plans regarding the aliens on the moon. Original plans had aliens made out of plywood, but someone's suggestion of having the scouts dress up in costumes is just perfect. Three lucky scouts will be sitting in a crater waving to the crowd as the float rolls down Main Street.
