Just for fun, I thought I would take an Intermediate painting class at the local University. The Department Head has been teaching the class, and working my tail off. It's all been really good fun.
I've made a bit more progress since I took this photo of the portrait I'm painting for an upcoming show. I have changed the background around (well just too many times) as I continue to work at a steady pace for Saturdays deadline.
While I was just browsing around at an indoor swapmeet this past weekend, I stumbled upon this gorgeous collection of vintage jewelry. My son and I were amazed at the sparkle quality of what seemed like seventyfive display boxes all neatly organized by color and theme. Here are just a few photos of this sellers beautiful display. This beautiful collection belongs to a classy southern lady with a history of 20 years of collecting beautiful jewelry. I suggested she write a book about her collection. Hum... we'll have to just wait and see.
Just a quick peek at one of the Portraits I plan to submit in an upcoming show next month. I felt very lucky to get my son to sit still for an hour so I could get the overall pose blocked in.
Last Sundays storm blew in quickly and aggressively, and left 200,000 of us in the Metro Detroit area without power. I will be away from my blog unfortunately until the power is restored. Hope all is well with my readers:) R.
